Waters Edge Lake Oconee

With over 400 acres of untouched woodlands and grassy meadows, Waters Edge captures the essence of what lakefront living is all about. Instead of investing millions in resort amenities, Waters Edge has been designed to enhance the natural beauty of the land. As an owner, you will be able to enjoy giant hardwoods dating back over a hundred years, abundant wildlife, and spectacular eastern views of Lake Oconee and the neighboring Great Waters Golf Course. Quiet walking and riding trails and a new Equestrian Center provide the perfect way to experience this outstanding property.

History of Waters Edge

The towering hardwoods of Waters Edge once shaded the walking paths and simple dwellings of the Native American and early settlers who lived and prospered here. The Native Americans remained in the area well into the 1800's as settlers established small plantation homes. In fact Waters Edge is the site of Montgomery and Spivey Plantations, as well as the birthplace of the renowned author, Alice Walker. Mr. E. B. Seymour, a preservationist, owned and personally managed the land for most of the past half century. The land became the property of Reynolds Development Company in 1993. Waters Edge is easily accessible via major highways and interstates. Major airports with car rentals in Atlanta and Augusta make air/land travel to Waters Edge an easy matter.
